Donald Trump corrected reports from the media suggesting that he actually wanted a government database for all Muslim Americans to be registered in order to stop terrorism.
“I didn’t suggest a database , a reporter did”, he wrote on Twitter moments ago. “We must defeat Islamic terrorism and have surveillance, including a watch list, to protect America.”
The media spent most of the day reacting to Trump’s positive reaction to a question posed by reporters as to whether he supported a plan to register American Muslims.
….which he positively did!

Democrat Propaganda agents were criminally lying again? They need to be brought up on Federal Election Commission charges for attempting to tamper with an election by deliberately promulgating known falsehoods.

I wrote to Trump on Twitter yesterday saying that same exact thing and also asked him to considering suing. This is outrageous where the media can just make stuff up like this then spread it like wildfire throughout social media. That idiot George Takei yesterday spread that story yesterday…This is was on Facebook, so I wrote him and told him “Calm down old man, you’ve been scammed” That guy has I believe 9 million followers, so that’s a potential 9 million people that saw that false story. This stuff ain’t no joke, this is absolute pure slander what they are doing to Trump.

Politico noted on Friday that Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, a candidate for president of the United States, has said the first thing that has come out of his mouth that could be construed to be remotely negative about Donald Trump. Cruz stated in an interview that will run Sunday on WABC that he does not think that Trump will win the Republican nomination and that most of the mercurial businessman’s voters will gravitate to the man from Texas. The statement was so mild and obvious that if said about anyone else it would not be news. Indeed, a Trump spokesperson simply begged to disagree on Twitter.
But, as Hot Air reminded us, Donald Trump is no ordinary candidate. He has both a volcanic temper and a thin skin that has manifested many times in incendiary attacks on opponents and members of the media. The nation is now hushed, awaiting the explosion. Will Trump call Cruz a “loser” and will he go full bore birther on him?
To be sure, Cruz sweetened his observation with praise….

House Benghazi Chairman Trey Gowdy has a message for Republicans: shut. up. ‘I have told my own Republican colleagues and friends, “Shut up talking about things that you don’t know anything about,”‘ Gowdy said today on Face the Nation.
Gowdy was trying to prevent further foot-in-mouth moments after House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy implied that the House Select Committee on Benghazi was responsible for killing Hillary Clinton’s poll numbers, an admission that allowed the Democratic frontrunner to label the panel as nothing more than a partisan hack job.
Following McCarthy, a former Republican investigator came forward and said he was fired because he refused to engage in a partisan witch hunt – claims that the committee denied.
Then, Rep. Richard Hanna said, ‘I think that there was a big part of this investigation that was designed to go after people, and an individual, Hillary Clinton.’
Finally, presidential candidate Carly Fiorina chimed in, saying about Clinton’s scheduled testimony in front of the committee this Thursday: ‘I wish for once Mrs. Clinton would be prepared to stand and be held accountable for the murder of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya.’
Gowdy noted how none of the Republicans talking were actually on the committee.

Clik here to view.Benghazi Select Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy gave Hillary Clinton the option as to whether she wanted to testify in public or in private. She chose public, and it now seems he regrets that decision.
“I can just tell you, in the private interviews, there is never any of what you saw Thursday. It is one hour on the Republican side, one hour on the Democrat side, which is why you’re going to see the next two dozen interviews done privately,” he said.
“The private ones always produce better results.”
Instead of producing results or new information into the investigation in Benghazi, many argue that last week’s hearing produced only partisan bickering and entertaining sound bites between Gowdy and Elijah Cummings, one of the Democrats on the panel.
The panel infighting unfortunately overshadowed more important exchanges between Clinton and the committee members. For example, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) revealed an email Clinton wrote to her family after the Benghazi ambush that proved that she knew it was a terror attack. Yet, Jordan reminded her, she told Americans it was the result of a YouTube video. The committee now had proof that the former secretary of state knowingly misled the public. It should have been front page news. Instead, outlets replayed Gowdy vs. Cummings all day.
In short, the committee appeared more intent on fighting one other than getting answers from their witness. Clinton, as a result, left the hearing in one piece.
Gowdy has to be frustrated that a year and half’s work has been jeopardized in the past few weeks. He had already been on the defensive in the aftermath of GOP Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s comments that the Benghazi committee had a political agenda.
As for how the committee’s most visible witness performed last week, Gowdy said she offered little substance.
“Did she cooperate in answering the question? Yes. Was it an accurate answer? No.”
